Alison Taylor

I was born & bred in Staffordshire. After graduating from the University of Birmingham in International Studies in 1981, I moved to Oxford, with a scholarship, to train in mental rehabilitation & Social Welfare with the Richmond Fellowship. I am a member of the Personal Finance Society, holds their Advanced Diploma & I’m looking to achieve Chartered status in the near future. Having practiced as an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) since 1983, I have specialised in the investment and protection of damages awards for the last 25 years.

I have been involved in many leading cases, Wells v Wells for one, both from the investment perspective and as a Court Expert for Structured Settlements, Periodic Payment Orders and Personal Injury Trusts.

I regularly run workshops for lawyers on various aspects of my role as an IFA working alongside the legal profession & have been featured both in the mainstream and legal press.

I am an active supporter & trainer for APIL, CBIT, Headway, the SIA, PIBA and AVMA. The Guardian neatly summarised my work as that of a Financial Social Worker who loves my job. I’m very much ‘a people person’ and a problem solver, my priority in my work at Frenkel Topping is to educate both professionals and claimants to ensure they maximise and protect their damages awards and are able to move on with their lives.

My qualifications are…

University of Birmingham B.Soc.Sci (Hons) International Studies including Development Economics, Public International Law & French;

The Richmond Fellowship for training in Mental Rehabilitation and Social Welfare, Rutland House, Oxford primarily as a Trauma Counsellor for Students suffering from Mental health problems.
